Sejong Hospital is the one and only hospital specialized in cardiovascular system. Recently, it is planning to start a project that establishes another vision. This vision is 'Asian Top Circulation Center' that all the employees of the hospital are participating in establishing for the purpose of building the best cardiovascular center in Asia.

Sejong Hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do recently announced plans to build ward for patients from other countries only and special district for cardiovascular medical service in cooperation with Bucheon City. Plan to build the best cardiovascular center in Asia. This plan was further developed and more specified into establishing Asian Top Circulation Center. This project will be in progress for about 6 months and detailed contents will be announced at vision proclamation ceremony on September 1.

Cheong, Ran-hee, the chief director of Sejong Hospital thinks that "All of us should make the future of the hospital together". "Since employees dealing with actual affairs are best to find advantages and disadvantages in development of the hospital, it is decided that all the employees would participate in establishing vision of the hospital." Therefore, all the employees amounting up to 700 will be divided into 20 teams. And to establish detailed plans, they will go through SWOT analysis, overseas research study for bench marking, one mind workshop, strategy meeting, etc. In the end they will by themselves establish the medium and long-term vision of the hospital for the best cardiovascular center in Asia.

Manager Park Jin-Sik, the section chief of cardiovascular internal medicine and the leader of the vision proclamation project said "It is unprecedented that all the employees including the specialists from 25 departments like cardiovascular center, cerebrovascular center, etc. participate in the project to establish the vision. Hopefully the wholesale study, training, and brainstorming by the employees will establish the vision that will develop Korean medical society as well as Sejong Hospital."

Five mega trends of future medical industry are customized medical service, bio industry, U-health, globalization, and consumerism. Among them, Sejong Hospital is focusing on U-health that can analyze and cure patients in real time by utilizing international activities like WTO and FTA, medical globalization and advanced IT. Besides, based on its experience as the hospital specialized in cardiovascular system for 27 years, it is planning to build a cardiovascular center that can cure even cerebrovascular diseases as well as other vascular diseases.

Sejong Hospital will establish a vision focused on medical level and service upgrade by coming up with the concept of 'international medical service' while excluding tourism from medical tourism. Cheong, Ran-hee, the chief director of Sejong Hospital emphasizes that "Since medical tourism is recently settled as one of the future strategic industry, lots of hospitals are participating in this medical tourism business. You have to thoroughly prepare for patients from other countries rather than accepting them without any qualitative improvement of medical service."
